Given :  an honest milkman mixes 20% by volume of bisleri to his milk and then sells the whole at the cost price of milk  .

bisleri costs 20% of the cosr price of milk

To Find : what is the net profit percentage

Solution:

Let say Cost price  of  Milk  per litre  = 5C    Rs

Cost price of  Bisleri  water  Per litre = (20/100)5C  =  C    Rs

Let sat  Milk  is    5L litre

Then Cost price of Milk = 5C * 5L  = 25CL  Rs

Bisleri added = (20/100)5L = L  Litre

Cost price of Biselri  = C * L  = CL  Litre

Total Cost Price = 25CL + CL  = 26CL   Rs

Total Volume = 5L + L = 6L

Selling price = 5C  Rs

=> Selling Price = 6L * 5C  = 30CL  Rs

Profit  = 30CL -26CL  = 4CL  Rs

Profit %  = (4CL/26CL) * 100  =  15.38

net profit percentage = 15.38 %
