An ice plant working on a reversed carnot cycle heat pump produces 20 tonnes of ice per day. the ice is formed from water at 0oc and the formed ice at 0oc. the heat is rejected to the atmosphere at 30oc. the heat pump used to run the ice plant is coupled to a carnot engine which absorbs heat from a source which is maintained at 240 oc by burning liquid fuel of 45000 kj/kg calorific value and rejects the heat to the atmosphere. determine the consumption of fuel per hour and the power developed by the engine. take the enthalpy of the ice = 334.5kj/kg.
