An ideal gas is heated at constant volume until its temperature is three times original temperature.it is then expanded isothermally till it reaches its original pressure the gas is than cold at constant pressure till it is restored to the original state. represent the cycle on P-V diagram and determine the network/kg of gas in terms of gas constant R.

Explanation:

the whole process consists of 2 sub process the 1st is isochoric (Constant volume) and in closed system constant volume process doesn’t generate work, and the 2nd is isobaric (constant pressure) which the work done in it will be in the following form

W2=P2(V3−V2)=mR(T2−T3)=mR(T2−T1)

since we return to the initial temperature T1 , but as you stated the temperature T2 is the double of that of T1 then the work done by the whole process is

Wtotal=mR(T2−T1)=mR(2T1−T1)=mRT1

Hope this helps u

Thanks
