Use the formula 1/f=1/u+1/v

h' = 2/3 * h
h'/h = 2/3
m = 2/3
v = 12cm
m = -v/u = 2/3
-12/u = 2/3
u = -18cm
1/f = 1/u + 1/v
  = 1/36
so , focal length (f) = 36 cm

vanshica: magnification is not negative in case of lens
