An imaginary cube of edge length L/2 is shown in the figure. A uniformly charged rod having linear charge density lambda and length L moves towards left with constant speed v. At time t=0, the left and just touches the centre of face of the cube
choose the correct graph which represent the flux of electric field through the cube as he rod through it

Answer:

Figure shown an imaginary cube of edge L/2. A uniformly Charged rod of length L moves towards left at a small but constant speed v. At t=0, the left end just touches the centre of the cube opposite it. Which of the graphs shown in figure represents the flux of the electic field through the cube as the rod goes through it?

The correct graph representing the flux of the electric field through the cube as the rod through it is Third.

  • When the rod begins moving in, there is an increase in the flux as well, through the cube because of the electric field. With the already within length L/2, it will then reach its limit.
  • This will remain at the highest point until it passes through the remainder of L/2. Then the flux will continue to decrease again before the whole rod comes out.
