An induced current has no direction of its own. Explain. Why? Or What factors govern the direction of induced emf?

The induced current always flows in adirection so that it opposes the cause or the change in a direction it. ... But as soon as the magnet leaves the ring, the direction of the current will become anticlockwise in accordingwith Lenz's law. It shows that an induced current has no direction of its own.
