An integer is chosen at random between 1 and 100. Find the probability that it is divisible by 8. Please give the correct answer as per the board answer key as there is a lot of confusion with the total number of outcomes being 100 or 98.

total outcomes = 98
possible outcomes=12
probability= 12/98
6/49

Rushil2405: Are you sure?
Jiyaa1: yes
Rushil2405: My all teachers are saying it should be 100.
RishabhBansal: it should be 98
Rushil2405: For example : if you remember when we were like small we used tell people to pick a number between 0 and 10 , then do some multiplication etc etc... At that time 0 and 10 would be inclusive.
Rushil2405: If you Google what is between two integers in maths. It says that its all the values between them and the values or integers itself else specified
Rushil2405: So I personally think the questions wrong since it should be specified inclusive or exclusive.

First let me clear your confusion.
In the question it's clearly mentioned that integers BETWEEN 1 and 100.
So we will consider 98 as total number.
If it was integers from 1 TO 100 then total number of outcomes will be 100.

Hope this helps
