Interviewer: Good morning everybody! Today, we have before us a very prominent person who made his way up the ladder by virtue of his hard work. I present before you before our very own Mr Nitin of XYZ Handicrafts Ltd.

Nitin: Good morning! It is my pleasure to be here with you.

Interviewer: So, Mr Nitin, you head one of the leading handicraft companies in the country. Tell us what made you venture into such a field.

Nitin: The passion for handicrafts started right from my childhood. My grandmother was my inspiration. It was with her help, I began making some creative stuff.

Interviewer: Can you please tell us some of the things you did as a child.

Nitin: With my grandmother’s help, I used to make toys out of coconut shells. Similarly, with the leaves from the coconut trees, I used to make things like baskets and boats.

Interviewer: Did you sell anything that you made?

Nitin: Yes, I used to give the things I made in the nearby fancy store for them to sell. They used to pay me 15% of their sales proceeds. This is how I earned my pocket money and saved some money to make more handicrafts.

Interviewer: That is really nice to hear. That passion within you grew over a period of time, I must say.

Nitiin: Yes, you are right. I took the decision to pursue my profession based on my passion. I had my parents to support me and with their help I started my own small handicraft store. Slowly, as I expanded, I began to source handicrafts from other places in the country.

Interviewer: Do you deal with handicrafts outside the country too?

Nitin: I do, but I believe in giving more importance to exporting our country’s handicrafts. What I get from other countries is mainly for my collection.
