I think the answer should be like this...........
100g of salt contains 0.5 g of sodium iodide
1g of salt contains 0.5/100g of sodium iodide
3G of salt contains 0.5*3/100g of sodium iodide
No.of moles of iodine would be 0.5*3/100/126
No.of iodide ions would be no of moles of iodide we found* Avogadro number

Answer:

The number of iodide ions going into his body everyday is 6.022\times 10^{19} ions.

Explanation:

Percentage of NaI is salt = 0.5%

Amount of salt consumed by the person = 3 g

%(NaI)=\frac{\text{Amount of NaI}}{\text{Amount of salt}}\times 100

0.5\%=\frac{x}{3 g}\times 100

x = 0.015 g

Moles of NaI=\frac{0.015 g/mol}{150 g/mol}=0.0001 mol

Number of molecules in 0.0001 mol of NaI :

0.0001 mol\times 6.022\times 10^{23}=6.022\times 10^{19} molecule.

In 1 molecule of NaI there is 1 iodide ion, then in 6.022\times 10^{19} molecules the number of iodide ions are :

1\times 6.022\times 10^{19} ions= 6.022\times 10^{19} ions

The number of iodide ions going into his body everyday is 6.022\times 10^{19} ions.
