The temperatures of both are the same. So there would be no net heat flow from that aspect.

The heating resulting from the change in potential energy, and the heating involved in the rusting of the ball would most likely be pretty small. (Given that the ball was dropped into a mug, my guess is that the dropping was not from a great height, though I can imagine someone setting things up otherwise to be contrary.
