an iron nail sinks in water while a ship made up of iron floats on water. state the reason for it.

because of buoyancy.
Ship has buoyancy but the nail doesn't.
Buoyancy was because of air in it

a heavy ship floats because it displaces a large weight of water which provides a great buoyant and force to keep it a float
