The average of 3 numbers is 17 and that of the first two numbers is 12. what is the third number

Let a , b , c are three numbers ,

( a + b )/2 = 12

a + b = 24 ---( 1 )

( a + b + c )/3 = 17

a + b + c = 51 ---( 2 )

24 + c = 51 [ from ( 1 ) ]

c = 51 - 24

c = 27

Third number = c = 27
