An iron pipe 20cm long has exterior diameter equal to 25cm. If the thickness of the pipe is 1cm. Find whole surface area of the pipe.

Answer:

R = 25/2 = 12.5

r = 23/2 = 11.5

H = 20 cm

Lateral surface area of pipe = 2*pi*(R+r)*h

= 2 * 22/7 * ( 12.5 + 11.5) * 20

=44/7 * 24 * 20

= 3017. 14 cm^2

TSA = 2*pi*(R+r)*h + 2*pi*(R^2 - r^2)

= 3017.14 + 2*22/7(156.25 - 132.25)

3017.14 + 2 *22/7 *24

3017.14 + 150.86

= 3168 cm^2
