Answer:

if any substance having hydrogen that is an acid but water contain hydrogen atom . why?By the Lewis definition, anything that can accept a lone pair of electrons (as hydrogen ions will do) can act as an acid. Hydrogen is a common constituent of acids because it is easily captured and stripped by electronegative species, but also easily removed and stabilized in aqueous solutions.

Given : An irregular shaped piece of gold was lowered into a graduated cylinder holding a volume of water equal to 17 mL

The height of the water Rose to 20 mL

the mass of the gold was 27 g,

To Find : what was its density

Solution:

1 ml = 1 cm³

volume of water equal to 17 mL

The height of the water Rose to 20 mL

=> Volume of gold  = 20 - 17 = 3 mL or 3 cm³

the chain weighs 27g and it displaces 3 cm³ of water

=> Specific density  of chain  = chain weight / Volume of water displaced

=> Specific density of chain  = 27/ 3

=>  Specific density  of chain  = 9

Specific density   of gold = 9

 density of gold = 9 g/cm³
