Isosceles triangle

Solve for area

A=240cm²

a Side

26cm

b Base

20

cm

Using the formulas

A=bhb

2

hb=a2﹣b2

4

Solving forA

A=1

4b4a2﹣b2=1

4·20·4·262﹣202=240cm²

Hope it helps you dear ☺️

Consider an Isosceles triangle ABC, with AB=AC=26 cm.BC=20 cm

Draw a perpendicular AD on non- congruent side BC.

In an Isosceles triangle a perpendicular bisects the non congruent side.

Hence, BD= ½

BC= ½ (20)=10 cm

In △ABD,

AB²=AD²+BD²

26²=AD²+10²

676=AD²+100

AD²=576

AD=24 cm
