An isosceles triangle has perimeter 30 cm and each of the equal sides is 12 cm. Find

let the third side be x

given perimeter = 30 cm

x + 12 + 12 = 30

x = 30 - 24

x = 6 cm

let it's base be 12 cm

it's height will bisect the line

Now we have,

b = 6 cm

p = 5 cm

so,

h = √(p² + b²)

= √(25 + 36)

h = √61

so,

area = ½ base × height

= ½ × 12 × √61

= 6√61 cm²
