an object 4 cm in size is kept at a distance of 30 cm in front of a convex lens of focal length 20 cm. what is the position, nature and size of the image formed?

u = -30cm
f = 20cm
m = f/f-u
m = 20/20+30
= 20/50
= 0.4
m = -v/u
v = -mu
v = -0.4×30
v = -12 cm
image formed will be on the left of the mirror as v is negative
image formed will be real and inverted as m is negative
Size of the image = -m × height of object
= -0.4×4
=-1.6 cm
