The position of image is at 12 cm from the mirror and the size of image is 1 cm.

Explanation:

Given : Object distance : u = -60 cm

Focal length : f = -10  [For concave mirror]

To find : position image and the size of image.

Mirror formula : \dfrac{1}{f}=\dfrac{1}{v}+\dfrac{1}{u} , where v is the image distance.

For v , it will be : \dfrac{1}{v}=\dfrac{1}{f}-\dfrac{1}{u}

Substitute all values ,  we get

\dfrac{1}{v}=\dfrac{1}{-10}-\dfrac{1}{-60}=\dfrac{1}{60}-\dfrac{1}{10}=\dfrac{1-6}{60}=\dfrac{-5}{60}\\\\\Rightarrow\ v=\dfrac{60}{-5}=-12\ cm

Magnification = -\dfrac{v}{u}=-\dfrac{h_i}{h_o}

, where h_i is the size of image.

Substitute all values , we get

\dfrac{-12}{-60}=\dfrac{h_i}{5}\\\\\Rightarrow\ h_i=\dfrac{5}{5}=1

Hence, the position of image is at 12 cm from the mirror and the size of image is 1 cm.
