Answer :-

  • The distance of the image from the mirror is 16.67 cm.
  • The size of the image is 3.34 cm.
  • The image is real, inverted and highly diminished.

Explanation :-

The given mirror is concave mirror (converging).

Given,

  • Height of object (h) = 5 cm
  • Distance of object (u) = -25 cm
  • Focal length (f) = -10 cm

By using mirror formula,

 \frac{1}{v}  +  \frac{1}{u}  =  \frac{1}{f}  \\  =  >  \frac{1}{v}  =  \frac{1}{f}  -  \frac{1}{u}  \\  =  >  \frac{1}{v}  =   \frac{ - 1}{10}  +  \frac{1}{25}  \\  =  >  \frac{1}{v}  =  \frac{ - 5 + 2}{50}  \\  =  >  \frac{1}{v}  =  \frac{ - 3}{50}  \\  =  >  v =  \frac{50}{ - 3}  \\  =  > v =  - 16.67 \: cm

Hence, the image is real.

Magnification,

m =  \frac{h</strong><strong>'</strong><strong>}{h}  =  -  \frac{v}{u}   \\  =  &gt; h</strong><strong>'</strong><strong> =   -  \frac{vh}{u}  \\  =  &gt; h</strong><strong>'</strong><strong> =  -  \frac{( - 16.67) \times 5}{ - 25}  \\  =  &gt; h</strong><strong>'</strong><strong> =  - 3.34 \: cm
