u = -20 cm
R = +30 cm
Therefore,
f = 15 m [ f = R/2]
We know that
(1/v) + (1/u) = 1/f
=> (1/v) + {1/(-20)} = 1/15
=> 1/v = (1/15) + (1/20)
=> 1/v = (4+3)/60
=> v = 60/7
=> v = 8.6 cm
So the object is 8.5 cm away from the pole
Also the image created is virtual and erect
