an object covers half the distance with a speed of 30m/s and the other half with a speed of 30m/s. calcuate the average speed of the whole journey.

simply, let first speed be v1 and second be v2.

=) Av = 2v1v2/(v1+v2)

= 2*30*30/(30+30)

= 2*30*30 / 60

= 30 m/s
