An object has moved through a distance  can  have zero displacement.

Displacement is a vector quantity which is having a magnitude as well as direction.

Displacement only depends on initial and final position of the object.

Distance is a scalar quantity.

It depends on the path travelled.

So, even an object has travelled or moved through a distance, it can have zero displacement if it returns back to the initial position from where it started.
