Displacement :-

The shortest distance between initial and final position. It is a vector quantity unlike distance which is a scalar quantity.

If an object had moved through a distance, It can have zero displacement because It is possible that the object might have ended up on the same position where it started. So that the distance between final and initial position would be 0, because the final and Initial position is same.

Some Information :-

☛ Distance is the actual path length travelled by a body. It is a scalar quantity and can't be less than displacement.

Velocity is the rate of change of displacement per unit time while Speed is the rate of change of distance per unit time. Velocity is vector quantity and Speed is scalar quantity.
