An object is dropped from a platform 100 feet high. Ignoring wind resistance, how long will it take to reach the ground?

100ft = 30.5m
s=30.5 m
initial velocity  u =  0m/s
accelaration due to gravity g = 9.8ms-2
s=ut+1/2 gt^2
=> 30.5 = 0*t +1/2* 9.8*t*t
=>(30.5*2)/9.8 = t*t
=>305/49 = t*t
=>t= square root of 305/49 s
