Explanation:

u = -4m

u = -4mv = 1m

u = -4mv = 1mm = - v / u

u = -4mv = 1mm = - v / u = - 1 / -4 = 1/4

u = -4mv = 1mm = - v / u = - 1 / -4 = 1/4positive value in m shows that image is virtual and erect . therefore the mirror is convex

Given ,

u=4m

v=1m

m=-v/u

by sign convention =-4m

m=1/4

=0.25 //

As the magnification is positive , virtual and diminished we can say that the mirror could be convex.

Hope its helpful.
