Answer:

You need to know about the definition of distance and displacement first

Distance is nothing but path length

It's a scalar quantity

Displacement is length of line joining initial and final position

Path travelled is circumference of semi circle while displacement is connecting initial and final position

Distance-1/2 pie d

Displacement -d

Answer:

2πr and 0

Explanation:

According to the question,

Radius of the circular arc = r

And the object is moving along this circular path.

Here, we are asked to find distance and displacement when the object completes it one full arc i.e, 360°.

So, We know in case of distance we consider only magnitude of the length but in case of displacement we consider magnitude as well as direction of length. As displacement is vector quantity and distance is scalar quantity.

So, Displacement of the object will be zero as displacement is defined as the total distance between final and initial position of the object. As the object when completes 360° its initial and final is same so we can say its displacement is equal to zero.

Now for distance, it will be equal to the 2πr which is circumference of the circle. As the total length covered by the object is equal to circumference.
