Answers :-

Acceleration is 0.5 m/s² .

Distance travelled is 125m.

EXPLANATION :-

We are have with the information:-

  • Initial velocity is 10 m/s (u = 10 m/s)
  • Final velocity is 15 m/s (v = 15 m/s )
  • Time taken is 10 s (t = 10s )

Let's find the acceleration of the body .

Acceleration is defined as change in velocity per unit time So, according to the definition.

Acceleration = Change in velocity/Time

Acceleration = (Final velocity- Initial velocity)/Time

⇒a = (v - u )/t

Substituting the values,

⇒a = (15-10) / 10

⇒a = 5/10

⇒a = 1/2 m/s² = 0.5 m/s²

So, acceleration of the body is 0.5 m/s²

___________________

Distance travelled by the body .We can find it by using third equation of motion/ second equation of motion.

By using third equation of motion v²-u² = 2as

  • v = final velocity
  • u = initial velocity
  • a = acceleration
  • s = distance covered

Substituting the values,

⇒(15)² - (10)² = 2(0.5)(s )

⇒225 - 100 = s

⇒125m = s

So, distance travelled by the body is 125 m.

Know more :-

The three equations of motion are :-

1st equation:- v = u + at

2nd equation :- s = ut+½ at²

3rd equation:- v²-u² = 2as

where, {}

v = final velocity

u = initial velocity

a = acceleration

s = distance covered

t = time taken
