An object is placed 0.8 m in front of a converging lens of focal length 32 cm.
What is the distance to the image?
Answer in units of cm.

Answer:

By Converging Lens, it means Convex Lens.

Object Distance (u) = 0.8 m (negative)

= 80 cm

Focal Length (f) = 32 cm (positive)

By Formula,

= 1/v-1/u = 1/f      .... where v is the Image Distance

= 1/v-(-1/80) = 1/f

= 1/v+1/80 = 1/32

= 1/v = 1/32-1/80

= 1/v = (5-2)/160

= 1/v = 3/160

= v = 160/3 cm

= v = +53.33 cm

Image is 53.33 cm in front of mirror.
