U=-20
F=-20
1/f=1/u+1/v
1/-20=1/-20+1/v
1/-20+1/20=1/v
1/20=1/v
V=20cm

sargam9: Wrong answer
Playing1234: then what's the answer
sargam9: 10
Playing1234: then your books answer Is wrong because in concave mirror focal length and distance of object is in minus
sargam9: Ok
sargam9: no u are wrong
angellajolie901: isnt it -10?
sargam9: yes it is 10 cm

Given:

Object distance (u) =20cm

Focal length (f) =20cm

Image distance (v) =?

Solution:

Image distance is calculated as,

1/f=1/u+1/v

or, 1/20 = 1/20 + 1/v

or, 1/v =1/20 - 1/20

or, 1/v = 0

v = 1/0

v = infinity

Hence, the image will be formed at infinity i.e the distance of the virtual image is infinite.
