An object is placed at a distance of 30 cm from a convex lens of focal length 10 cm. list any four characteristics(nature, position,etc) of the image formed by the lens.

given,u =-15 cm [it is left two the lens ]
f = -30 cm [it is concave lens ]
using lens formula 1/f =1/v-1/u
1/v = 1/f +1/u = 1/(-30) + 1/( -15)
1/v = -3/30=-1/10
therefore, v= -10
the negetive sign of the image distance shows that the image is formed on the left side of the concave lens . Thus , the image formed by a mirror is virtual , eect and the same side as the object .
