Explanation:

★ BY LENS FORMULA

 \frac{1}{v}  -  \frac{1}{u}  =  \frac{1}{f}

★ U = Distance of Object from the Lens

★ V = Distance of image from the Lens

F = Focal length of Lens

» Given ;

→V = ?

→U = -60 cm

→F = + 20 cm

∆ Now ;

» 1 / V - 1 / U = 1 / F

» 1 / V - 1 / (-60) = 1/20

» 1 / V + 1 / 60 = 1 / 20

» 1 / V = 1 / 20 - 1 / 60

» 1 / V = (3 - 1) / 60 { L.C.M}

» 1 / V = 2 / 60

«★» V = 60 / 2 = 30 cm.

♥ HENCE ; IMAGE DISTANCE FOR THIS APERTURE IS " 30 CM "

Answer:

Explanation:

Given :-

Object distance, u = - 60 cm

Focal length, f = + 20 cm

To Find :-

Image Distance, v = ???

Formula to be used :-

lens formula i.e 1/V - 1/U = 1/F

Solution :-

1/V - 1/U = 1/F

⇒ 1/V - 1/(-60) = 1/20

⇒  1/V + 1/60 = 1/20

⇒ 1/V = 1/20 - 1/60

⇒ 1/V = (3 - 1)/60

⇒  1 / V = 2 / 60

⇒ v = 60/2

⇒ v = 30 cm.

Hence, the image distance is 30 cm.
