An object is placed in front of a lens and a diminished image is formed beyond the focus of the lens. Determine whether each of the following statements is ‘True’ or ‘False’.

(a) The linear magnification of the image is smaller than 1.  True

It is given that, the image forms beyond the focus. So, of course, the object is placed beyond the center of curvature on the other side. (See the attachment for the ray diagram)

(b) A virtual image is formed.  False

A virtual image is created when the object is placed between the focus and the pole of a convex lens or if a concave mirror is used. But, here, a convex lens is used as the image could be kept beyond the center of curvature. So, in case of convex lens, if the object is placed beyond center of curvature, the image is real and inverted.

(c) The lens is concave.  False

As discussed above, there are only two cases possible if a concave lens is used i.e. object is at infinity or, object is between infinity and center of curvature. In both the cases, the image never forms beyond the focus. it is given that the image is formed beyond the focus. So, it is a convex lens.

(d) An inverted image is formed.  True

As the image is real, it is thus inverted. It forms behind the mirror.

(e) The image can be captured on a screen.  True

A real image can be viewed on a screen, a virtual image can not.

(f) The object is placed beyond the focus of the lens. True

The object is actually placed beyond 2F (center of curvature). So, object placed beyond F is also same as object placed beyond 2F. But if the question would have given, "The object is placed beyond the focus and after the center of curvature of the lens" then it would have been false.

Hope, my answer helped you ^_^
