If the distance between the object and the earth is increased to much then the value of "g" will be also decreased.

  • The "g" denotes the gravitational acceleration which mainly depends upon two factors -
  1. Mass of the body.
  2. Distance of the body from the center of the earth.
  • Now, we can derive the mathematical equation of calculating the value of "g" in the following way -

Gravitational acceleration (g) = (Gravitational Constant (G) × Mass of the body)/(Distance from the centre)²

  • Now, if we increase the value of the distance between the centre and the object, then we have to divide the whole RHS of the above mentioned mathematical equation, with greater numerical value. And, we know that the by dividing with greater values we get the smaller results.
  • That's why, the increasing distance will decrease the value of "g".
