Given:-

→ An object starts from rest.

→ Acceleration of the object = 2 m/

→ Time taken = 1 min

To find:-

→ Final velocity of the object.

Solution:-

Firstly let's convert the time taken from min to sec .

⇒1 min = 60s

∴ Time = 60s

Also, in this case :-

• Initial velocity of the object will be zero

as it starts froms rest.

________________________________

By using the 1st equation of motion :-

v = u + at

Where :-

v is final velocity of the object.

u is initial velocity of the object.

a is acceleration.

t is time taken.

Substituting values, we get :-

⇒ v = 0 + 2(60)

⇒ v = 0 + 120

⇒ v = 120 m/s

Thus, final velocity of the object is 120m/s .

Some Extra Information:-

The 3 equations of motion for a body moving with uniform acceleration are :-

• v = u + at

• s = ut + ½at²

• v² - u² = 2as

We know,

v = u + at (1st eqⁿ of motion)

We have,

Initial velocity as = 0 m/s (rest)

Acceleration = 2 m/s²

Time = 1 min = 1 × 60 s = 60 s

Let, final velocity = v

∴ v = at

⇒ v = (2 m/s²)(60 s)

⇒ v = 120 m/s {answer}.

More:-

Equations of linear kinematics:-

  1. v = u + at
  2. s = ut + ½ at²
  3. 2as = v² - u²
  4. snth = u + a/2(2n - 1)
