an object is thrown vertically upwards and rises to a height of 10cm. calculate (1) the velocity with which the object was thrown upward and (2) the time taken by the object to reach the highest point.

$v^2 + u ^{2} = 2as$
v = 0 as at top velocity becomes 0
0+ u^2 = 2×10× 0.1
-u^2 = 2

$u = - \sqrt{2}$
ii) by using first equation of motion
$v = u + at$
$0 = - \sqrt{2 + 10 \times t}$
so the answer is
$- \sqrt{2 \div 10}$
