first it moves 3 m north

and then 6 m south

Net displacement=shortest path between the final and initial positions

=hypotenuse of the triangle formed

by pythagoreas theorem

hypotenuse=√(3²+6²)

=√45

=3√5 m

therefore displacement=3√5 m
