An object moves 6 km due west and then 8 km due north . Find the distance covered by the object and its displacement

Total distance = sum of distance covered by object.

Total distance = 6 km + 8 km = 14 km

For displacement it should be shortest path

Using Pythagoras theorem

Displacement²=6²+8²

=36+64

=100

Displacement=√100

=10km
