Given: An object moves from point A to point C along the rectangle.

To find: Distance covered by the moving object, magnitude of the displacement of the object.

Solution:

As the figure is not given, so lets consider the rectangle ABCD.

Let the length of the rectangle be x and the breadth of the rectangle be y.

So, according to first question, the distance covered by object in moving whole rectangle will be:

        = length + breadth

        = l+ b

And, according to second question, displacement of the object from moving A to C will be :

        =√length² + breadth²

        =√l² + b²

Explanation:

Answer:

The distance covered by the moving object is  l+ b

The magnitude of the displacement of the object is √l² + b²
