An object of 40 N weight when immersed in water looses 10 N weight . Will the object float or sink . Why ?

the object will surely sink as the upward force exerted by the water is only 10N.
the weight of the object >upthrust of thew water,so the object will sink.

i think that the object will sink because the upthrust force is 10N and weight of the object is more then the buoyancy since weight of the object is more then that of the buoyancy force therefore the object will sink...
