h = 9cm

u = - 14cm

we know that,

1/v - 1/u = 1/f

1/v - 1/ -14 = 1/12

1/v = 1/12 - 1/14

TAKING L.C.M OF 14 AND 12, WE GET : 168 AS THE DENOMINATOR.

Therefore, 1/v = 14-12/ 168 = 2/168

Therefore,

v = 84cm.

For size of the image,

v/u = h`/h => 84/-14 = h`/9

=> 84X9/-14 = -54cm

Image size = -54cm

Thus, The image size is smaller than the object size, and the image formed is real and inverted.
