Kinetic energy formula :

K = 1/2 m v²

Change in kinetic energy = 1/2 m v² - 1/2 m u²

= > 1/2 m ( v² - u² )

Given

m = 10 kg

v = 5 × 3 m/s

= > v = 15 m/s

u = 5 m/s

Thus change in kinetic energy

1/2 m ( v² - u² )

= 1/2 × 10 × ( 15² - 5² )

= 5 × ( 15² - 5² )

= 5 × ( 15 + 5 )( 15 - 5 )

= 5 × 20 × 5

= 25 × 20

= 500

ANSWER:
