Potential energy=mgh

=40*10*5=2000j

kinetic energy when object is halfway down=mgh/2

=2000/2=1000j

Mass = 40 kg

h = 5m

P.E. _ ? [ g = 10 m/ s2]

P.E. = mgh

= 40 × 10 × 5

P.E. = 2000J

When the object falls the potential energy gets transformed into kinetic energy. When the object is half way down

P.E = 2000/2 = 1000

PE = KE

so, Kinetic energy = 1000 J

shoaib3344: is g=10 is in the formula
simmi9955: ya
