time taken = 6 sec.

initial velocity = 2 m/s.

final velocity = 5 m/s.

initial momentum of the object = 500*2=1000 kg.m/s.

final momentum of the object = 500*5=2500 kg.m/s.

force required = rate of change of momentum / time taken.

force=(2500-1000) / 6

force=1500/6

force= 250 N.
