an object oh height 4 cm is placed at a distance of 15 cm in front of a concave lens of power ,-10 diopters. find the size of the image.​

h = 4 cm

u = 15 cm

p = -10 D

we know that

P = 100\f( in cm)

-10 = 100\f

therefore f = -10 cm

1\v - 1\u = 1\f

1\v - 1\15 = 1\-10

v = -6 cm

h'\h = v\u

h' = -6\-15*4

h' = 1.6 cm

therefore object height is 1.6 cm.

Height of object = 4cm

U =-15cm

P =1/f

-10f =1

f=-1/10x 100cm

f=-10cm

1/v=-1/10-1/15=-5/30

v=-6cm

m=v/u =6/15

Height of image =v/u x height of object

6/15 x 4 = 24 / 15 =1.6cm

Therefore the height of the image is 1.6 cm
