Answer:

initial velocity = -100 m/s

Time taken for the ball to reach the ground =10 seconds

Explanation:

Given:

v = 0 m/s

a = 10 m/s

s =500 m

v^2-u^2= 2as

=>0 - u^2 =2 × 10 × 500

=> -u^2 = 10000

=>u = -100

=>t =  (v - u)/a

=>t = ( 0 - ( -100 ) ) / 10

=>t =100/10

=>t =10s
