1st time taken = t₁ = 4 seconds.
2nd distance covered = d₂ = 20 m
2nd time taken = t₂ = 2 seconds.
As we know that,
⇒ Av. speed = Total distance/Total time
Putting all values :
⇒ Av. speed = (d₁ + d₂)/(t₁ + t₂)
⇒ Av. speed = (20 + 20)/(4 + 2)
⇒ Av. speed = 40/6
⇒ Av. speed = 6.67 m/s
