Given :-

  • Time taken = 5 hours
  • Speed = 50km/h

Aim :-

  • To find the Distance travelled by the object

Answer :-

Speed, distance and time :

Speed is said to be the Distance travelled by a body per unit time. The SI (Standard unit) of speed is m/s [Meter/second]. It is a Scalar quantity - Has only magnitude and no direction.

Formula to use :

\longrightarrow \sf Distance = Speed \times Time

Let Distance be denoted by D,

Substituting the values,

\implies \sf D = 50 \times 5

\implies \sf D = 250km

Therefore, the Distance travelled by the Object is 250km.

More formulas :-

\begin{gathered}\boxed{\sf Speed = \dfrac{Distance}{Time}, Time = \dfrac{Distance}{Speed} }\end{gathered}

More to know :-

Vector quantities :-

Quantities which are said to have both magnitude and direction are said to be called as Vector quantities.

Average Speed :-

Consider an object covering a distance of 50m. For the first half of the journey, The speed is 2m/s and for the second half it's 4m/s. The average speed is calculated by :

\boxed {\sf Average\:Speed = \dfrac{Total\:Distance\:covered}{Total\:time\:taken}}
