Given:

An object is thrown upward,

time to reach the highest point = 5 seconds

final velocitiy = 0 m/s

acceleration = 10 m/s^2

To find:

initial velocity = ?

distance = ?

By newton's first kinematic equation:

v = u + at ...(we can find initial velocity)

Putting values:

=> 0 = u + 10 × 5

=> 0 = u + 50

=> - 50 m/s = u

By newton's second kinematic equation:

v^2 = u^2 - 2as

Putting values:

=> (0)^2 = (-50)^2 - 2 × 10 × s

=> 0 = 2500 - 20 × s

=> -2500 = -20 × s

=> 2500 = 20 × s

=> 2500 / 20 = s

=> 125 m = s
