object-distance = -10cm
focal length = 20 cm
image-distance = v = ?
by lens formula ,
1/f = 1/v - 1/u
or , 1/v = 1/f + 1/u
i.e., 1/v = 1/20 - 1/10 = -10/200 = 1/-20
i.e., v = -20 cm
since 'v' is negative in magnitude , the image formed is behind the object .
thus the object formed is :
VIRTUAL AND ERECT .
