An observer 1.5m tall is 28.5m away from chimney .The angle of elevation top of the chimney for her eyes is 45 degrees what is the height of the chimney

DE=BC=1.5

In triangle AEB
tan 45= AB/BE
(tan 45= 1) 1 = AB/28.5
AB= 28.5 (cross multiplying) 

AC= AB+BC
AC= 28.5+1.5
AC= 30 m

Let AB be the observer and CD be the tower also refer the given figure :

AC=BE=28.5m

AB=CE=1.5m,DE=h m

∴ From right angled △BED,

tan 45° = DE

BE ⇒1= h.

28.5

h=28.5

∴ Height of tower CD=h+1.5=28.5+

1.5=30 m
